The European Men’s Club Trophy has existed since 19 years in the European amateur golf history. Every year, this trophy is organized by the European Golf Association (EGA) bringing together the men’s club champions of each European country, who are members of the EGA. Teams are composed of 3 players and supported by 1 captain. This tournament is played as a stroke play, which means that each point and each penalty count from the first to the last hole. Each day, 18 holes are played by the three players and the two best scores are taken for each team. After 54 holes, the team with the best overall score will be crowned champion.
Play golf in Bordeaux: a privilege offered by the Golf du Médoc Resort for the third year in a row
As in 2018, the European Men’s Club Trophy will take place at the Golf du Médoc Resort on its famous Châteaux course from October 24th to October 26th. A prestigious environment offered by the South West region between the médoc vineyards and the estuary close to Bordeaux. On its 200-hectare nature territory, the Châteaux course was elected France Best Golf Course by the World Golf Awards in 2014, 2016, 2017 et 2018.
Play golf in Bordeaux is a privilege for our European golfers in this magnificent environment that offers the Golf du Médoc Resort. All competitors will be able to enjoy our wine tasting, French gastronomy and relaxation. Transfers from Merignac airport to the golf and vice versa will be organized especially for the teams participating to the event.
Who will succeed to our 2018 French champions the RCF La Boulie?
Last year, supporters had the pleasure to see the RCF La Boulie won in their own country. It wasn’t the first time that this team was crowned; they won in 2015 and 2007. The European winner team of last year is automatically qualified for next year.
In France, the winner of the French Men’s Club Trophy (Trophée Jean Lignel) gets to play the event, being Terre Blanche this year.
At the European Men’s Club Trophy, two teams will represent France: RCF La Boulie and Terre Blanche it’s possible to have two teams representing the same country in the tournament (club member of the EGA only).
