Created in 1989, the Golf du Médoc offers 2 remarkable 18-hole courses: Les Châteaux and Les Vignes, whose principal quality is is their technically rich course design. Ranked among the 100 best golf courses in Continental Europe, these two competition courses regularly host International Championships. Together, the courses boast 3.8 hectares of greens which are perfectly maintained throughout the course of the year.
The Châteaux course was voted Best Golf Course in France in 2014 by the World Golf Awards. It adheres to the purest tradition of the Scottish ‘links’. The wide fairways bordered by heathers, gorses and brooms carry the players through unspoiled nature. The quality of the greens, the effect of ocean winds and the technical richnessof the course design make this championship course a golfing challenge of the highest order.
This course is embedded in a landscape typical of the region, where the aesthetics of the heath and the maritime pines enrich the architect’s design. The long pars punctuated by elaborate greens and the judiciously placed obstacles demand thought and precision from the player. The great diversity of situations of play, the quality of the course and the charm of its setting will satisfy the needs of even the most demanding of golfers.

“Lovers of Sunningdale, Swinley Forest and heathland will be seduced by the Châteaux course.” – Bill
“This course is a perfect compliment to the Châteaux course, offering a whole new landscape and a completely different golfing experience.” – Rod
High quality, championship courses which are very different from one another. There is the Châteaux course, a real championship course and very difficult to play, and there is the Vignes course, a very technical course in the trees. For the pros and for myself in particular, they provide the perfect training conditions.
